GENERAL QUESTIONS

Will the court approve of my participation in this program? NASP education programs are recognized by more than 4,000 criminal and juvenile justice professionals in over 2,000 jurisdictions nationwide. If you haven’t been directly referred to this program and you are unsure if your court will give you credit for completing this course, NASP would be happy to speak to the judge or referral officer on your behalf. Simply call us at 1-800-848-9595 to provide us with their contact information. You may also print a Program Overview for Referral Officer which will explain what the program is and how it will help you.

Will I receive proof of completion at the end of the program? Yes, upon satisfactory completion of the online program, you will be able to print an Exit Letter to show your participation in the program. The official Completion Letter will be mailed to you. If you choose to complete the program by mail (with audio CD’s and a Workbook) a Completion Letter will be mailed to you once NASP receives your Answer Sheet.

Will the court be notified of my successful completion of the program? Yes, if you provide NASP with the court’s information (or Court Number/Code) at enrollment, a Completion Report will be mailed and/or emailed to the court.

Should I enroll in the Online Program or the program completed By Mail? It is your preference. We recommend taking the online program if you have a computer with a high speed internet connection. The online program contains interactive video presentations, is easy to use and allows you to begin your program immediately upon enrollment. However, if you prefer, you may choose to order CD’s and a Workbook to complete your program by mail. Please allow 5-7 days to receive your program.

How long will it take me to complete the course? The NASP programs are easy to use and can be done in the privacy of your home. Between viewing the online program, reading the questions and marking your answers, the program should take you about 3-4 hours to complete. If you choose to complete the program by mail (with audio CD’s and a workbook) it should take about 4 hours to complete.

Is the program available in Spanish? Yes. The SA Course is available (for adults) in Spanish in the CD and Workbook format.

Is my personal information confidential? NASP is a confidential help organization. Participation in any of the NASP programs is held STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL. No information will be released about your participation in any NASP program without your permission, except to a court or jurisdiction which specifically referred you to complete a NASP program or upon your request.

Does NASP provide additional support services, if needed, once I complete a program? Yes. NASP provides lifetime support to help people stay on track once their program is completed. Call 1-800-848-9595 to learn more or visit our Self-Help and Support Center .

What if I cannot pay the full tuition fee right now? If you were ordered by a court, agency, diversion program, police department or other person in authority you may begin by mailing a ½ payment via personal check or money order and we will mail CD’s and a Workbook to you. You can also make a ½ payment with a debit card over the phone. If you feel that you may need more time to come up with the first ½ payment, please call NASP at 1-800-848-9595 to request an extension.
